The crowd area requiring coverage was 190m deep, and about 800 left to right, with the stage on the eastern side some 250m from the northern edge.
The main speaker system comprised three main self supporting speaker towers, one each side of the main dias, and a third delay towern and a front fill cabinets near the dias.
The two main towers (pictured at right) were 100m apart and each comprised a 18m high truss guyed to a 7.2m x 6.0m scaffold base ballasted with six tonnes of concrete. Each tower carried five Bose LT3202 long throw cabinets, three Bose 4402 mid throw cabinets and four Bose 1802 bass cabinets.
The delay tower at the southern end of the course stood 15m high and carried two Bose LT3202 cabinets to augment the main system.
Patrons closer to the stage were covered by additional Bose LT4402 cabinets as front fill on 2.4m high truss stands. The system provided remarkably even coverage of the entire area from just three main locations.
Mixing for this event used two Yamaha PM3000 consoles for Front of House, a Yamaha PM2000 with separate diverse signal distribution as a back up console in case of disaster, and a four channel twelve send foldback system for the musical elements of the program.
Other elements included in the package included loop systems for the hard of hearing, dias lighting with specially painted white lamps, marshalling systems, power generation and mains distribution, and radio and hard wired communications.
