Darling Harbour Australia Day Spectacular
A complete audio and communications solution has been provided by the P.A. People for many years for this spectacular event. The P.A. People has provided a complete audio solution for the event, commonly placing the speaker system on a tower in the centre of the harbour (floating on a 1000 tone barge) with a radio link to the show control area. The audio system also interfaces with the existing system throughout Darling Harbour and Tumbalong Park.
In recent years a Clearcom Matrix Plus has been introduced to the communications system to allow further flexibility. Three commercial band duplex radio repeaters / interfaces are used covering the entire city area for the show call, fireworks cues and lighting cues. In addition to the commercial band, two marine radios are interfaced to the system allowing the show director to coordinate the entry of up to 20 Tall Ships and working harbour vessels into the Cockle Bay area.
